Book review: Fat girls & fairy cakes

Fat girls and Fairy cakes by Sue Watson

This book is about TV producer Stella Weston, who is married to Tom and has a daughter Grace.

One day, Stella finds herself fired. Then things get worse and Tom leaves her. Stella doesn't know what to do, because she needs to keep a living for her and her daughter. In her spare time, Stella loves to bake and one day she offers to bake for a friend of her daughter's. That gets the ball rolling and makes that Stella starts a baking business.

This book starts off quite like the dream, married, a daughter and a great job, then it all goes down hill. Stella gets depressed like any other woman in her situation would, but manages to fight her way up. It's inspiring chick lit, to be honest. At times it's cheesy, but it's also a feel good book, so in the end you're happy it all turns out well.

The book has been written funny and if you're looking for a fun read, I'd certainly recommend this book. I would give it 3 out of 5 stars!

Are you planning to read this book? Or have you read this book and what did you think of it?
